This is a simple RGV revisions and update history.
[Wide beta release]
* 05/13/96 - This version of RGV completely replaces any older version
of RGV. You should delete all older files related to RGV
and re-install this version.
- INTL validation level has been removed. There's really no
way to check Renegade to find out if the user is an
international caller anyway. It has been replaced with
your country's dial prefix (this is 1 in the US and Canada).
This should (hopefully) allow sysops in other contries to use
RGV. This hasn't been tested as I live in the US. Let me know
if you have problems.
- You no longer need to set the environment variable to Renegade.
Just fill out the path to renegade.dat in RGV /SETUP.
- The RGV-LOCK.DAT format changed. The easiest way to convert to
the new format is to simply run RGV /IMPORT.
- RGV will now lockout multiple areacodes thusly :
+1-911* # ;
+1-xxx-911* # ;
(See RGV.DOC for more details).
* 05/05/96 - Fixed a nasty bug that would cause hangs in places on some
people's systems.
- RGV will now update the user's time after validation according
to what you have set for thier security level in RG's system
config under time limitations.
* 04/25/96 - Fixed a problem with the config deleting itself on some
systems. Richard Thurston was a great help in tracking
this down. Thanks bud!
- Fixed another small problem that occured if an incoming
Fax was detected.
- Oops, using the /IMPORT switch chopped the last two numbers
on the phone number. Fixed!
* 04/16/96 - Made a few small comsmetic changes.
- Adding /H to the end of your RGV execution string will
hangup on ALL users. (ie., RGV C:\RENEGADE\DROPFILE%1\ /H)
- RGV /IMPORT will import all users in your userbase who's
security level is different than the NEW USER level you've
got configured in RG. I did it this way because obviously
you don't any unvalidated users imported.
Note: this may be a problem if you don't change your user's
security level when they are validated. If I receive
alot of feedback about this, I'll investigate alterior
routes, but I'm assuming most people use a SL difference
to distinguish between NEW and VALIDATED users.
- Found bug small bug in modem routines.. For some odd reason
I was flushing the buffers when a callboot occured. Brain
fart I guess. :)
- Hangup routines will now attempt to first lower DTR, then
send the hangup string to insure you're hungup.
- RGV /SETUP will now detect duplicate "node reference" entries
in RGV.CFG and refuse to save/exit until you fix it.
- RGV /SETUP now will make sure your directory structure is
correct when you configure the option.
- The displacement of the modem activity box after callboot
is fixed.
* 04/06/96 - Tested about everything I could think of and the new Renegade
was released 04-05-96, soooooo... Wide beta released...
Awaiting bug reports. ;)
